Business owners policy (BOP) is designed to offer the basic minimal coverage any small or mid-sized business could benefit from. Our Maryland business insurance agents are here to help you evaluate your business risks and select the right business owners policy, as well as any extended coverage beyond what BOP can offer. We are based in Eldersburg, MD, but we work with business clients from all over Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region.
Choosing the Right Amount of Coverage
One of the benefits of working with an independent insurance agent is that we can bring up certain issues and risks you haven’t even considered. Purchasing insufficient amount of coverage is an easy mistake to make, especially when you are just starting out with your new venture. And because cost is usually a concern, it’s understandable why so many business owners expose themselves to such risk. When you sit down to talk with one of American Heritage insurance agents, he or she can help you not only pick the right coverage, but also find ways to save whenever possible. And as your business grows, we are always here to guide you in making adjustments to your insurance portfolio.
Our team is here to sit down with you and determine what coverage you need and what coverage you don’t, creating a custom tailored insurance policy for you.
What is Included in Business Owners Insurance
Property insurance protects property owned, leased or rented by your business. This includes everything from your office building to your desks, office chairs and computers. If your entire office were to burn down, property insurance will pay to replace your lost business property up to a certain limit.
When it comes to liability coverage, you can’t go wrong with a broad, comprehensive policy. Even the simplest mistake, such as dropping a nail gun from a roof on client’s property, may cause thousands of dollars in damage or injuries.
Workers’ Comp Insurance
If you have employees, you need workers’ compensation insurance. It’s that simple and it’s offered as a part of many standard business owners policies.
Most business owners policies also offer additional coverage on top of the basics we’ve described above. This may include coverage for the loss of business income, equipment breakdown, data breach, errors and omissions, employment practices liability, crime and identity theft, and more!

What Our Clients Say...
Over and above the time, effort and saved dollars that you put into earning our business – your careful attention to detail in getting our coverage right is what mattered the most. Thank you for educating me about the differences in coverage and for reallocating our insurance dollars to minimize our exposure while maximizing our policies.
