When it comes to liability, it’s important to have the right amount of coverage in the areas you need most. Our Maryland liability insurance brokers recognize that each business is different and requires individual approach and assessment of insurance coverage. Let our team at the American Heritage Insurance Agency help you evaluate the liability concerns for your business and find coverages that match your business needs.
General Liability Insurance
General liability insurance is the most basic insurance you can purchase to protect your business in case there is harm or injury caused to another person or their property as a result of your business operations. It is highly recommended, and you probably already carry at least a minimum coverage of $50,000. But is this an adequate amount for the type of business you are conducting? And are the risks covered actually in line with the risks you face? We can help you answer these questions and make a course correction as needed!
Professional Liability Insurance
If you offer advice to your clients or provide a professional service, you may also benefit from professional liability insurance. It can protect you and cover the defense costs if your business is ever sued for professional negligence, libel, slander, copyright infringement or similar offenses.
Employment Practices Liability Insurance
There is no specific number of employees that should warrant purchasing employment practices liability coverage. It’s best to review your concerns with an agent from our office to determine whether you should seek extra protection from lawsuits related to discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, violation of FMLA or related issues.
Umbrella and Excess Liability Coverage
Just like a personal umbrella policy, business umbrella coverage extends your liability limits beyond what’s offered in your commercial auto or business owner’s policy. If you are hit with a costly lawsuit, an umbrella policy can offer you $30 million or more in additional liability coverage. If you are worried that this isn’t enough, you can cushion your fall with an excess liability policy that will kick in once you exhaust your umbrella policy resources. Excess liability limits vary, but most companies provide up to $50 million in coverage.
Call us or contact online to schedule the time to discuss your business and its liability risks.
What Our Clients Say...
Over and above the time, effort and saved dollars that you put into earning our business – your careful attention to detail in getting our coverage right is what mattered the most. Thank you for educating me about the differences in coverage and for reallocating our insurance dollars to minimize our exposure while maximizing our policies.
